    Is it possible....

    To stretch your legs so much so that you can stand on one leg and bring the other one straight up above your head and hold it there? So you have like, your knee to the torso and the foot above your head? I've seen it when over-agile super jelly persons do it but is it possible for us "humans"?

    If it is, what kind of stretching should i be doing and how often?

    This is probably the wrong place to ask this, both forum and section wise but i have asked in alot of martial arts forum and haven't gotten an answer so i'd figure i'll turn to you guys. Sorry for beforehand but i had this bugging me for quite some time. Thankful for responds and please dont me too hard.

    If its possible to give yourself head like Marilyn Manson, you could probably pull this off. Why you would is beyond me though.

    I think if you stretch everyday, about 40 minutes to an hour a day you should be fine in terms of flexibility.

    Why do you want to be able to perform a stretch like that?

      Cause it would be bloody awesome? Lift up your leg straight up in the air and rush it straight down smacking someones head with your heel in 40 Mp/h, Also it looks cool. You know what kind of stretches i should be doing?

        Try lying on your back and bring your legs over your head. Depending on how you position yourself you'll feel the stretch in your shoulders and your hamstrings. Keep doing this and you'll be on your way.

              I would do the splits like Johnny Cage, and then punch him in the nuts.

              As for stretches, just sit down on the floor with your legs straight out in front on you, and touch your toes. Build up to where you can touch your knees with your forehead while you're doing this stretch. I think it could help to get to what you're trying to achieve.

                Whats with you guys and punching in the nuts? No hitting under the belt dammit!..

                  That technique has a name, its called an axe kick. Flexibility is required to perform it and it is a dangerous technique especially when utilised by a taller fighter. Only thing i can advise is to stretch morning and evenings for about 20 - 40 minutes and practice the technique in air and on pads. If you want to see the technique used by a pro type "Andy Hug" into "youtube" and watch some of his K1 fights, he had one of the best axe kicks in the business. You may also want to explore joining/talking to some tae kwon do practitioners, thats the sort of stuff they love using.

                    Ah, so that's what the thing is called, Is it possible to keep holding your leg up there or is it just Up and chop down?

                    Also, you don't happen to have a list over what kind of specific stretches i should be performing?
