I do heavy squats and deadlifts but no isolation exercises. They are great exercises for strengthening the whole body.
Actually I do two leg workouts a week.In the first one i do these heavy compound exercises in the second I do bodyweight squats, jumping lunges, side steps and so on for endurance and speed.

            My bodyweight routine:
4 rounds of interval training for the upper body with small weights like Jeff Fenech does one one of the TITLE dvds
            followed by:
30 sec. squats as fast as you can
30 sec. shadowboxing with fast footwork
            30 sec. jumping lunges
30 sec. shadowboxing with fast footwork
            30 sec. lateral step squats
30 sec. shadowboxing with fast footwork
            30 sec. pause
repeat this cycle this cycle x4

Find 4 foot of water in a pool.

Jump up and down in the pool until fatigue, 5 sets.

This way, your legs will get strong, but you won't sacrifice stamina when you use them, unlike with weightlifting, where you may get stronger legs, however they will drain you and take you to hell.

                  Try doing things like

Speed Skater Squats (also called Bulgarian Splits)
                  Squats (Full Squats)
                  Box Jumps
                  Lunges
                  Hurdle Jumps
