Don't necessarily worry about fat. There are certain sources that are better then others such as nuts, olive, oil, avocados, etc. and these are good fats that should be included in a diet. If your trying to cut or maintain weight you should be more focused on total calories. A calorie is a calorie for the most part whether it's from fat or carbohydrates. You need a combination of both. Plus fat helps keep you filling full so it can cause you to eat less.

Replacing sugary soft drinks with water will make you lose weight and be more hydrated.

Cheese is pretty high in fat, but so are nuts. In any case, your body needs fat and cheese + nuts provide healthy fat.

You guys are too concerned with Fat. Fats have a lot of benefits, specifically saturated fats which have been shown to increase Free Testosterone Levels in men when consumed in moderation. Fat also slows down the digestion rate of protein which makes cottage cheese ideal for consumption before bed. Fat is also very filling.

What's making you fat and keeping you from being lean is carbohydrates and sugars.

There are good and bad times to eat carbs and or sugars. Carbs and sugars cause an insulin Sp!ke which causes your body to store fat.

Monitoring your carbohydrates is more important that worrying about fat intake. But that doesn't mean pig out on fatty food but you definitely need to monitor your carbohydrate and sugar intake.

You should be drinking water anyway. That's a no brainer. Not only does it keep you hydrated but it helps with immune defense and a overall general health.

Isnt saturated fat what clogs arteries raises cholesterol and cause heart attacks?

though cottage cheese is quite good for you having the lowest saturated fat content of all the cheeses. though low fat cottage cheese would be much better. part skim motzerella string cheeses also make a good snack with low sat fats.

unsaturated fats like olive oil, canola oil,and the oil in nuts/seeds dosnt really have an effect on your heart and cholesterol.

in the end though fats are fat and weather you take in saturated or unsaturated it dosnt really have anything to do with your weight just the health of your heart and arteries.

oatcakes, there not cakes but rather a biscuit with no sugar in, just wholemeal flour oats and salt, very good plain or spread with diabetic jam.
