I hurt my hand at the gym yesterday i was punching the heavy bag and suddenly got a sharp pain in my right hand, the pain went after a few mins so i carried on training. But this morning it hurts really bad i can move it around ok and i can clinch my fist ok but if i touch my knuckle it kinda hurts but if i push on my hand just below my knuckle it is really painful there is a bit of bruising on my hand but its not on the bit where it really hurts. I was thinking about strapping my hand up and resting it for a few weeks, i was also thinking about going up the hospital to get it X-Ray but not sure if i should or not. It takes bloody hours to get an X-Ray lol.

Ice it and rest it for a day or two, (you can still go to the gym, just dont use it on the bags or in sparring) then if the pain isnt gone or hasnt gotten any better after that, think about going to a doctor. Also ask your coach about what he thinks.

i've had the same thing. odds are it's just deep bruising. like archaic said, give it a day or two of icing and rest and it should be fine.

just see it as a chance to improve on something else. stay of the bags and do more shadowboxing, skipping etc instead. these things happen, but it doesnt have to hrt your training too much. like they say just rest it, ice it, and check back on it in 3-4 days. start out slow, do some double end bag and speedbag work. when it feel somcpletely fine u can start using the heavybag and spar again.

ice it and do not hit the bag unsupervised,you are hitting the bag swinging wildly and throwing punches from all angles,that is why your knuckle hurts,if you keep punching the bag in this same manner you will hurt your wrists,so go to a gym were they have a trainer and he will show you how to throw a punch,you should be okay,i am suprised you only hurt your knuckle usually a wild throwing puncher will hurt their wrists and sometimes dislocate the shoulder,so good luck and,jab,jab,right
