    How Do You Get Off Or Fight Off the ropes

    Everytime i notice i do very well when im boxing in the middle of the ring but when i get in the ropes i shut down or clinch what are some things i can do to get rid of these habits and be be better

    slip to the left.feint to the right throw a uppercut,and move away

      try to stay relaxed. Keep your stance as best you can and pivot out when you see an opening. If he's pushing you don't push back and tire yourself out. If you're going to try and fight on the ropes just remember to keep your punches short.

          I use a manoveur called the "three hooks" to get off the ropes

          you throw 3 short left hooks (they don't need to have power or anyhting behind them, they arent scoring shots) and you pivot a little on your left foot and move your right foot around to the left with each, so after you have thrown all 3 your opponent has been turned onto the ropes and you are in a position to score.

          As for fighting off the ropes, by doing that you automatically give your opponent the role of the aggressor, so the gain anything your defence needs to be tight as a drum and your punches very clean. But to be safe I hardly ever do it, like I said it gives your opponent the role of aggressor and the judges will be watching him, not you.
