    can you give me a helpful tips or link for healing my thumb ?ouchies !! and also some exercises for improving my hands and fingers so that this will not happen again

    Ice it, 20 mins on, 20 off.

    Also wrap your thumbs up better with your handwraps

      Thumb injuries seem to be one of the worst.... I hurt mine last season and it didn't heal for about 4 months and I still have problems with it. A mate of mine did the same thing and it never healed, now hes broke it. You need to be careful with them, they are very prone to injury and take a while to heal...

        Make sure you wrap your hands correctly, dont use gloves that are to big, pay attention to your technique, sloppy technique leads to most boxing injuries.

        Do some weight lifting that strengthens your forearms. This is probably the most neglected body part that boxers dont work on but it gives your punch so much more power, and helps you punch through your target. It also strengthens your wrist and hands. Do 3-4 sets or 15 every 3 days, believe me your going to notice the difference when you hit the heavybags really quick.
