light sparring? the **** is that. Shorten the distance with your jab and go to the body with hard shots. I hope you're not the one always crouching down.

im not haha , well he requested me to be just light on him, so i was just countering the whole time.
fist off you have to work on the other spects of boxing before you work on countering. countering is an art and if you cant throw correct 1 2 3 how can you counter. you msut work on your jab and cross and hooks footwork before you can say you want to work on countering.

yeah bud i;; work on dat, but i did some good counters there... u see it
Now im no proffesional, but I do know the basics, and I beleive, first, you need to bring your hand back to your face to defend alot faster, and also, when your blocking hold your elbows into your gut type thing.
I don't care if it's hard sparring or momma sparring, you got to use speed. You can have a real sparring session throwing fast punches and commiting to the punches. Especially with headgear on.
Man i do hard sparring with a Heavyweight amateur boxer with no headgear. That's how you learn the game.
When you'll fight you'll regret you didn't sparr harder.
It's not about being good or not, do a lot of Heavy bag, shadow boxing and then do what you learnt in the sparring session at full speed. You don't need power, just speed.
Stay in the gym man, you can only get better. If your focused and listen to your trainer, you can improve on any area. Let's hope he knows what he's talking about
