Most people are scared before a fight. Being scared is a good thing, it keeps you sharp. But you can't let it take its toll on you. You have to control it.

As for you trainer lying to you about a guy's record, seems like he doesn't care about you and he has arrangements with the other fighters trainers. Seems like a scumbag move to me.

Well, first of all, your trainer may not have known the other kid had that many fights, often happens when travelling the details get deliberately or accidently changed around. He might not have known.

But anyways, tell him you feel you need some more time to focus on improving some aspects of your game before you fight again, to get your confidence up and ensure you don't get hurt again.

If he has a go at you for this or whatever, ditch him. And if it does turn out he knew the other kid was older, heavier etc and lied to you, that is ridiculous.

Taking tough fights can be very beneficial, but as long as they are within reason, and the boxer taking them is confident and has a good grasp of his skills etc

As for being scared, yeah been there before. It leaves with experience, and if you have some success and get your confidence up.

Just gotta tell yourself you are a good fighter, you are in control of what you do when you are in there, and you will do your best.

I think I'm scared because if i get hit in the face I don't know how to take it because when i was 10 i got punched and start crying.

Or as scott mentioned, be assertive and tell your trainer that you don't feel that you're ready..and need some more training. I'm sure he'd understand unless he's an *******.

Btw, if you're trembling with fear..that means that you really aren't ready to be competing yet. Spar more, do smokers and you should start to feel more comfortable in the ring in front of people

                      Best of luck!
yes Smokers are a gr8 way to go..u usually get a couple fights in couple days and it doesnt affect ur record...good way to go...the nervs are common man i get sick everytime...till the bell rings then its all bizz..even in track when i ran college...stomach issues till gun went off..means ur a competitor and wanna b at ur best always...jus make sure u are that and are ready then u will b fine
