    training without music...

I let my wife take my mp3 today and now, when it's time to go run, I can't because I don't have music. I literally can't get up for it, the music gets me up for the work that I am about to put in and without it the idea seems torturous! Does anybody else have this problem?

Yea, you just have to become in tune with the sounds of your environment - listen to your breath, the rhythm of your body, and just go with it, you'll be more aware of your environment, and if your out running you'll see how out of it and ****** people are when they drive.

I have no means of listening to music when I do my boxing workout, it kind of sucks, but I think it really brings it to a different kind of meditative level if you really get into it. And my life is sound and music, I compose and perform music.

What you have to do is chant. What I find is music helps my breathing rhythm so I got less tired with music and more tired without. So if you chant it gets your breathing in order and shouldn't be as difficult.

      " Who's the champ "
      " I'm the champ "

or some cheezy stuff like that

The chants are good and they work ! Sometimes I chant "Dedication, Hard Work".

I'm the exact opposite- I HATE training to music. If my gym started playing music I would consider leaving.

They don't play music during competition so if I need music to get "pumped" I'm in the wrong sport.

I need music as well. Old time fighters used to run with groups, as it's very hard to run 5+ miles without anything.

I used to have indoor training machines a wind trainer, concept 2 rowing machine. I definitely liked to have music when doing indoor training. When I did my running outside usually I had a training partner who was the same speed. Back in the 90s the units were more cumbersome so I did not like to carry them. You might want to get a running partner if you have no music.
