beginer - boxing and ganing weight??

    wats up fellas..

im new to the boxing thing...been in love with it since a kid, jus never got to serious until now. want to start competing or at least start training. i was wondering as to what are the best beginner steps to take? how to train when im at home and at times wont have convenience to weights like you would at the gym, and i don have much room at my place for boxing equipment, maybe a speed bag that's about it. I am in the toronto area near markham and have been looking for a good boxing gym to start training, im so motivated to get goig and see how it is.. so some supoprt would be appreciatedd ..

alsoo im like 130 lbs and like 5,8 -9 ..i guess im skinnyy..but pretty defined. i was wondernig wouldnt boxing make me loose even more weight?? i dont want that .. im aiming to to be at least 140 - 145. newayss sorry to ramble on... jus needed some things cleared..hope some experience members could answer some questions. thanks alot guyss

How old are you? If you are still growing, don't worry about picking a weight to fight or walk around at. You may not need to put on or lose any weight, just manage it correctly. I'd suggest getting a medicine ball or kettle bell and looking online for some workouts. Even if you don't get seriously into boxing, either one will help you get into shape. If you use them right, along with some running or another form of cardio and some basic exercises, you will be on your way.

If you are serious about boxing, get in a boxing gym. Even if you just get a few classes in for now, it will help.

that's pretty late considering people start at a very young age.

but hey, if you're good, you're good. do not let age discourage you.

Sergio Martinez never stepped into a boxing gym until the age of 20.

then there is Antonio Tarver who did not have his first pro fight until the age of 28 or 29.

          my suggestion would be:
to start training in a boxing gym immediately

and don't fret too much about gaining weight. as you get older it will be harder to stay at the lower weights, 130 at 5'8 is perfectly fine!

Once you join the gym you choose, work on dedicating yourself and learning. Don't worry about weight and all that just yet, get into boxing shape first. Then take everything you learn and apply it in sparring. I work on certain things in different sparring sessions. Last time I worked on defense and boxing. It's all little steps. You'll learn a million things from your trainers. Take your time to get good at each thing you learned. Good luck bro !

5'8 at 130 isnt perfectly fine, thats borderline anorexic.he needs to eat. im sorry but he might become strong for his weight division, but in a real fight against people heavier than him(which most likely everyone will be), hed get smashed, lol, regardless of training experience.

go for it. bulk up,lift some weights and box your way to 145. just make sure you take in atleast 1x your bodyweight of grams of protein so you gain muscle and keep fat low when you burn it doing boxing.
