    Eggs for Protein: How many do you eat?

    Egg whites for Protein: How many do/would you eat everyday? I've started with 12 eggs on days I lift weights (weight lifting on alternate days).

    I'm not interested in protein shakes etc, so please don't recommend all that stuff here.

    its the egg whites that have the protein not the yolks which mostly contain fat.

          that's like i wanna lose weight but not interested n cardio so pls don't recommend that stuff

            Not necessarily. The yolks contain protein as well. There is a total of 6-7g of protein in a whole egg. The white itself contains maybe 3.5-4g of protein.

            The yolk is fat but it's not bad. In fact the yolk hold a lot of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

            The "yolk" controversy about being bad for you was a marketing scheme by general mills so people would buy more cereal.

            I personally do 10-12 eggs in the morning. Not all wholes but usually 4-5 wholes and the rest whites.

            At night before bed I eat 7 eggs all wholes.

                Depends how much protein you are getting from other sources.

                For atheltes it's recommended IIRC 1.2-1.8 grams of protein per KG of body weight.

                So if you wanted to use eggwhites as your main protein source, you would need a lot. But if you are also eating meat etc not as much.

                  eggs are high in cholestorol. make sure you do cardio if you plan on eating lots of meats and eggs unless your planning on getting fat
