is it healthy to need a **** about once an hour? I always need the toilet midway through a run, is there any way to stop this problem?

Well it's not at all healthy once an hour.l 1-3 times a day is okay. I almost always 'make' myself go before a workout as there is nothing worse then needing a **** half way through. It also make you ligther!

Also, you proberly need to look at your diet. For example, if you drink milk and go straight to the toilet, cut down on milk. If you have a protein shake and have a **** immediately, then you'll need to find an alternative!
If you are running long distances, "runners trots" could account for the need for the toilet.Im aware of this through training for marathons,in laymans terms,its a lack of blood flow to the gastro-intestinal tract caused by blood flowing to the muscles during your runs which affects digestion. They also reckon the jarring movement of running can also cause problems.Its a well known affliction amongst endurance runners,so a general search on the web will explain it better than i can.
But if you really are needing the toilet every hour id have a good look at your diet and also research ibs irritable bowel syndrome and maybe a visit to the doctors.
