Need some advice on becoming a better inside fighter. Everything is fine and dandy if I can keep distance and fight from the outside, but as soon as it becomes an inside fight I don't know what happens to me and my gameplan goes to sh.it. Help is appreciated.

It's easy to get overwhelmed by an inside fighter it's their game plan..Practice clenching it's not very popular during Sparing but you have to learn how to do it well to get a clean break ..Plus it helps with the momentum and balance when people push and lean an ya..

Lean into them slightly so you're the one in control. Pick your spots well. I find a right hook to the body is usually on. Try a cheeky uppercut on the inside as well.
Another thing is you don't need to hover on the inside, land a few punches then spin off and start boxing again. Make sure the punches are hard enough to discourage the opponent though.

I'm an inside fighter and I always tell people I think it's harder to become a truly great inside fighter than an outside fighter.
Reason being because usually guys that are good from the outside are blessed with speed so they rely on that to succeed.
A fighter like me doesn't have much speed so I need to get inside and use defense and short shots to get the better of my opponent.
It takes time man, it's hard, especially defensively.

I'm faster than most but I fight on the inside sometimes mostly for taller guys. The key is hand and chin placement. Me personally I lean my chin towards the guys stronger side because with the distance he can't get enough distance to make the punch count but I keep my arm mid level it's hard to explain. With my other hand I usually slip short shorts but that's where footwork counts u have to be able to move slightly just enough to make the shots count. It's hard to explain
