    Calorie intake/ diet

hello, following yesterdays assessment, I've been looking into 3400 calorie diets. The thing that strikes me is just how much food that is, on a healthy diet. I always thought I ate a fair amount and high quality. I'm also confused as to how I have been exercising so much gained weight presumably muscle mass despite probably not hitting 3400 calories a day.

Anyone got any good tips or good for increasing calorie intake?

Hitting the 3400 calorie mark is a bit easier than you think. I've noticed the trick is to snack throughout the day. It's the little things you eat that really adds up. Such as bananas (100 cals), 1/4 cup of nuts (150 cals), 1 cup of milk (100 cals), scoop of whey (100 cals). It may not seem like much but when you add those numbers up a couple times a day, that is easily 900 calories! To kick start my morning I usually consume a homemade protein shake which includes 1 cup of oats, 1.5 tbl peanute butter, 2 cup milk, 2 scoop of whey, flax oil. That gives me a good 850 calorie shake in one sitting. Here is a way of tracking your calories... .

Thanks for the advice maybe more little an often is required. Breakfast is going to be one area I target. I've heard about flax oil before is it expensive?

It isn't too expensive. You can get a bottle that will last you a month for $14 at a grocery store. I use about 1-2 tablespoon each day. Helps you get in those extra calories you are looking for

I consume literally half that, and I eat throughout the entire day.

When I ate junk, I proably put down 5000 a day and didn't even realize it. Now that I eat healthy, I have trouble eating enough calories too. I eat raisins, raw nuts, recently bought a juicer, and like an above poster said, make a big 700 calorie protein shake in the morning. I also eat protein bars every day.
