Pressure Fighters Losing At A High Level - Train Everything

Being a beast/pressure fighter is a microcosm of the sport of boxing. I think it's better to train smart and be able to do a little bit of everything with 1 or 2 specialties. How many "pressure fighters" gotta get knocked off once they reach a certain level before guys realize you gotta have respect for boxing, train, and talk intelligently with an open mind. Then and only then can you began to appreciate the Martial Art of Boxing

Shorter limbs, slower feet and hands then a great desire to compete and Fight! If you don't realize the "Art" in pressure fighting thats on you! Theres fewer trainers who understand how to train to apply pressure and to recognize the willingness in a youngster who isn't a "naturally gifted" boxing student.
There are equally tuff techniques to learn to become an outstanding pressure fighter as there is in stand up boxing! Just because you don't have the experience to teach a method or don't see it at a high level doesn't mean it doesn't exsist. It just means you have alot more studying to do.

I am not sure why you include Boxing into the Martial Arts, Boxing people from as far back as I know (and thats far back) have never included Boxing in with Martial Arts. Boxing has been alive and fuctioning as a physical combative sport for a long time and I'll state my opinion and I'll quarentee all theres many others who would not group Boxing in with the "new Martial" entertainment programs like mma and etc! Boxing stands seperate and as a combat endeavor with very distingtive rules that prefer a man "standing and fighting" not grappling and definetly not hitting his opponent as they fall unconscience (how cowardly) hahaha!!!
Barry if you want to take on traditions go ahead but I believe you'll be counter productive in your wanting to group Boxing into Martial Arts. Respecting tradition goes along way in Martial Arts and it does within Boxing too! I feel respect is a big part of you and how you train so consider my opinion on grouping a self contained sport in with others that have just been fabricated together to produce a new form of entertaining combat. Boxing stands alone! Ray.

The men make the style, not the other way around. Not everyone can learn a little bit of everything. We are made different, built different and carry different skill sets.

Also, who are the pressure fighters losing? If you are referring to Guerrero against Mayweather, I mean Floyd has beaten everyone he's faced and the one guy he lost to IMO was a pressure fighter in Castillo.

Pressure busts pipes, and the reason Mexican fighters are so successful in the sport.

Again, it's not the style that makes the man, it's the man that makes the style.

You also used the word "microcosm" in the wrong way. Saying that pressure fighting is a microcosm means that pressure fighting is boxing. I think you meant to say that pressure fighting is just a fragment of what boxing is.

Barry, I think you have this the wrong way round Martial Arts can learn more from boxing than the other way round. Boxing is fighting and martial arts tends to be doing drills and set piece moves and practicing theoretical moves and situations that are removed from real life fighting. When it comes to fighting they tend to be a total let down because they fold up when they get hit because unlike boxing martial artists almost never get conditioned to take shots and as soon as they get hit go into shock mode. When boxers meet and fight with martial artists this tends to happen

I agree. I don't think of boxing as a martial art.

Boxing is a Martial Art explained by George Foreman and Muhammad Ali

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. This is a great video. Listen with your mind.
