        LOL Fair Question

        1. I used to be 100lbs heavier. So despite still being heavy, I've developed a good level of conditioning after years of working out and weight loss that's not typical of someone of my height/weight.

        2. I don't do that much of an intense workout every workout. My Saturday AM workout is usually my hardest. I typically workout 3-4x per week. My other 2-3 workouts are maybe hour long versions of that workout but minus the running.

        3. Everyone's body is different. It's very difficult for me to lose weight.

        4. Lifting 5x per week is a good amount of exercise. I used to lift a lot more when I lost the bulk of my weight as well, but I've always did cardio and since my workouts now are almost always boxing circuit type workouts, I do a lot less weight lifting.

        5. I gave him my worse case scenario workout to show that if someone like me can workout for 1.5 to 2 hours at a pretty high intensity, anyone competiting should probably be able to do more. I've competed before and despite being able to do these types of workouts, I still gassed. Boxing is no joke. Everyone conceptually knows this but you don't really fully understand it until you get in the ring.

It increases the risk of soreness and injuries, you're going to develop bad habits and 12 rounds on a heavybag on a regular basis will put immense strain on your joints and connective tissues.

Its overload and going to make you lazy, you're going to be neglecting defence and uppercuts, you're going to get tired and start pushing your shots and develop further bad habits.

The heavybag is essentially used to develop power.

                      Agreed.

So I've had an injury and then some surgery (unrelated) so I've been gone essentially for 6 months...

but I'm back, and I'm training for a smoker. Let's see how this goes.
