    First boxing bout

    Hi all,

I am fighting my first bout on the 13th July, was just wondering if anyone has any tips on training outside the gym? Maybe weight training and also how far should i be running on my road work and any other exercises people would suggest

What are good foods to be eating whilst training to help me along to? I find myself eating the same things at times and it does get quite boring.

    Hope you can help.

Hi, Good luck for your fight . Running and Sprinting is a very important training regime that you need to do a lot during the week. It depends on your fitness level and always try to break your records.

Example I do 5KM 3 to 4 times a week, and a long distance run (9 to 10Km) once or twice a week (depends on weather, work etc.).

As for sprints, do it once or twice per week to prevent any injuries. Always stretch and warm up before any exercise to prevent injuries.

Plyometric exercises are also a great training to include in your training to increase cardio and strength.

As per eating, it also depends if you need to lose fat or increase any weight / muscle. Always drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Fish, Chicken, Meat and Vegetables are a great source of food to stay in shape and still have energy to train.
