    Yoga for boxers

I took 3 different yogas for a month each. Combined the stuff I thought was effective into routines that directly benefit punch power, and recovery for boxing. Sharing this for the sole purpose of hoping to improve someone's QOL or their loved ones' QOL - I found out about yoga about three years ago and it has been part of my daily routine ever since.

I'll start recording the routines that I do and making small changes here and there, this was just a basic routine before I went to work

I've actually been getting into a little yoga myself recently. My girlfriend has a ***elry business and recently partnered with a yoga studio to sell some of her stuff, so we both took a yoga class together. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of stretching, but thought it was relaxing and utilized a fair amount of isometric strength as well.

Since we've been doing a few yoga videos off of youtube together. I think its helpful and a great form of active recovery.

Where are you at in the video? The nature sounds are a nice touch.

I love yoga! I do Hot Yoga with a Vinyasa flow. It's great for stretching, balance, strength, toning and detoxing. Yoga is the only thing outside of boxing that I do as fitness that my boxing coach is ok with, everything else he finds to be a waste of time lol!

Plus you can do yoga on "rest days". I rarely will double up days with hot yoga and boxing though, it tires me out too much and depletes way too many calories for me to make up. I recommend hot yoga, especially for those that are actively working out, it helps deepen the stretching and loosen your muscles.

Lol, I can see yoga being boring when coming from an high intensity workout like boxing, but that doesn't mean it isn't good for you!

Have you tried that DDP yoga? My wife does it and it's real deal. It'll seriously kick your ass while helping your flexibility at the same time. She's had a lot of her friends come over to do it with her, but they only come once. Lol. Too intense for most chicks. It even wears me out.

Yoga is excellent. All the top pro tennis players do it but they don't talk about it, it's like a secret weapon. I do it and it is hard to explain how good it makes you feel better, better body control and more agile, more balanced, better posture and the stretches help blood flow to reach hard to reach spots in the body which helps heal injuries or nagging pains. Wonderful thing to do once or twice a week. You will improve as an athlete too.
