Brushing your teeth using baking soda

Does anyone do this here? Does it make your teeth whiter

I've heard about it but never tried it. Isn't baking soda used to stop a grease fire in the kitchen as well? Wouldn't wanna try something that strong in my mouth

I do it now and then. I don't know if it makes your teeth whiter but it helps bust up plaque.

Toothpaste often includes baking soda in its' ingredients. Baking soda is a good product to brush your teeth with and i have used it on occasion.

I have seen multiple articles that say this is better than using toothpaste but I haven’t tried it.

add peroxide and make a paste. I think the peroxide provides the whitening.

I knew an elderly man who used baking soda to brush his teeth. Well into his 80s he still has most of his original teeth. I had a dental hygienist tell me that toothpaste is a waste of money and those harsh mouthwashes are actually harmful. She said flossing is the best thing you can do to clean and preserve your teeth.

I don't use baking soda, but I started having sensitivity in a tooth and have an appointment with the dentist in 45 minutes. Last week after I made the appointment, I bought a tube of Sensodyne toothpaste, and now all the pain is gone. Hopefully the dentist will tell me everything is fine, but last week I thought I'd need a root canal. I always thought that Sensodyne was BS, but it really works.
