          Japan is a nice country but they still seem very old skool and traditional when it comes to the houses.. I have not seen any 2 stories american style houses, etc.. I am only making this assumption based off pictures and videos I've seen of japan. I havent actually been to japan. But i wouldnt wanna live there anyways.

            This is really going depend on you and what you want, I grew up in a mid sized city in PA 45 minutes away from NYC, people pay thousands of dollars for a window box there but you couldn't pay me to live there.

                    For a few months, YES if you have the money. You'd be better off settling in upstate NY, 100 miles or so outside the city and driving to it on the weekends. It is an experience for sure.​
