    The Mexico vs puerto rico thread 2013

    Ok folks with the upcoming martinez vs burgos fight coming up thought id make a thread to discuss the fights that will happen. Here we will keep a tally of who wins more fights this year. Only the important fights no fights where either of the two are fighting bums.

    Ass for the martinez vs burgos fight i think burgos will win a ud with scores of 115-113 in an early candidate for fight of the year. If martinez cant hurt burgos he is not winning.

      I'm very pumped up for this fight can't wait!! It should be a good one, Burgos is solid and has good skills he also has good technique, Rocky on the other hand is willing to go to war and trade but he needs to do it the smart way otherwise he can get hit with a lot of counters. I got Burgos stopping Rocky as crazy as it may sound . Martinez can't get too careless when he trades although he does have some decent pop to his punches but like Apocalyptso said , If he don't hurt Burgos he can be in for a very long night . May the best man win

          What do the mexicans think of Martinez after seeing him against Beltran?

          I thought Beltran overall has the "cleaner" boxing ability. Martinez just seemed really determined that fight, and was really surprised to see him push Beltran back for most of the fight.

          This is going to be a good fight.

          I think there will be a lot of good fights between mex and pr this year, but not real big ones.

            I thought Beltran beat Martinez with lesser but harder and cleaner punches but I can see how some people thought Rocky won. Burgos VS Rocky will be good

              I thought Beltran would have won had he thrown more punches. He looked great in the round and a half against Salgado. I think he will be a champ one way or the other.

              Whoever wins this fight should unify against Salgado or go to Japan. To me Salgado is the weakest link of these three mexicans.

                Dont get mad bro nd start flaming. But truth is martinez sucks. He is a poor mans segura. He has very little technique but has a huge will to win. He has power and throws alot of punches, which is why he got the decision against beltran. Beltran is the good though dude just needs to let his hands go thought he deserved the decision on the cleaner blows landed.

                  Same could be said of Luis Cruz, and I thought the only way Segura could lose was by getting outboxed and he ended up getting beat up by Viloria.

                  His only great win has come against a 36 year old Calderon. Martinez is a two time world champ now so Martinez>Segura no way is he a poor mans Gio.

                    Has martinez ever been lineal champ? Gio has faced some good fighters like tamara vargas and other ok fighters. Martinez has yet to even fight a top fighter or fellow champion. Wish soto had unified with martinez when martinez was undefeated. Soto would of murdered him
