Ye cinema is on a slippery slope. Nowadays a classic is Mr and Mrs Smith or sum **** like that. All society is being dumbed down. Its just ******.

people want their food cooked in under a minute and movies no longer than an hour and a half they read fashion mags instead of novels

making movies used to be an artform an expression of someone now it's a business were money is the number 1 priority

I know and it really pisses me off sometimes. I have missed out on most of the classics being released because of my age and now i get all this ****e. The only director who sees movies as they truly are nowadays is shyamalan, and his inspiration is usual suspects

there are still a few directors who feel they are making art

          tarantino
          bryan singer
          shyamalan

spielberg and scorsese have lost it of late but are still two of the best directors ever

            tarantino
I forgot about tarantino, but his work hasn't reached the dizzy heights of reservoir dogs and pulp fiction recently. Still a master of his trade though, and i agree about scorsese and spielberg. I think they may have lost the magic touch they once had.

I don't know about "art", but Shymalan hasn't made a good movie since The Sixth Sense...

i liked the concept and idea of kill bill but was left dissapointed

but tarantino is still young in movie making terms so i would'nt be surprised if he has another couple of classic up his sleeve

I preferred Vol. 2 to Vol. 1; I don't think he's going to approach Pulp Fiction ever again.

Ye i was dissapointed by kill bill. It became over the top in the end and i really didnt like the film. But i am sure he has a few more classics up his sleeve.
