I was wondering the same.

And that 2nd round KD wasn't about Khabib's standup it was cuz Khabib's takedowns are always something Conor has to worry about so he has to watch his distance unlike in most of his fights. And also making Khabib's offense standing up more effective.

If Conor concentrates on standup more thats just gonna give Khabib more chance for takedowns. Thats why this matchup is always going to be more favorable to Khabib cuz Khabib just gots to watch out for Conor when he's standing up & Conor gots to watch out for Khabib standing up, for the takedown & when he's on the ground.

Part of what makes MMA so interesting is all these rock, paper, scissors type matchups. You need to be well rounded as possible & even when you are if someone is exceptional at one thing it can make them harder to beat for certain fighters or much easier to beat for others.
