I agree with the first 2, BUT after that it gets pretty hard. I wouldn't pick Marciano as #3, BUT he does belong in the top 10.

Others that belong there are, Johnson, Holmes, Foreman, Frazier, Dempsey, Liston & either Lewis, Holyfield or Tyson. Tunney would be up their too but he mostly fought as a Light Heavyweight during his career, as did Ezzard Charles.

Tunney has to be on anyones top 10 in the HW simply, he was the first thru "sweet science" boxer in the HW's division....as for Liston, yes, but not in the top 10 , LL , Tyson...top 20 but not the elite 10

I have nothing against putting him in the top 10, BUT Tunney only fought a handfull of bouts as a heavyweight. If he fought as a heavyweight for a few more years, who knows. As far as Tyson goes, he would have a chance with anyone for the 1st several rounds. I would rate him right outside the top 10.

As far as Liston goes, no one wanted to box him. He stopped Patterson twice in the 1st round and beat all the top contenders, that would box him, way before Patterson put the title on the line.

Langford was a GREAT boxer and one of the best pound for pound boxers ever. He weighed only 156 pounds when he fought Jack Johnson, who weighed 185, back in 1906. Dempsey once said that he was the only boxer that he was afraid to box.

He was a small guy, standing only 5'6-1/2", BUT he was one of the Greatest!

It's hard to rate him because he fought in so many weight divisions, which one do you rate him in.

Tunney change the way HW fought....use boxing skills rather than raw power....

Actually James J. Corbett used that style years before that.
