Who Do You Think is The Most Recognizable Athlete Ever?

Muhammad Ali or Michael Jordan? I know Jordan is slowly gaining ground as the younger people are not educated to Ali, but I think Ali still holds his ground.

    Anybody else?

Ali was worldwide long before the internet or satelite television. Both Jordan and Tiger woods are gaining on Ali. But if the same media resources were around in the 60's and 70's that are around today, it wouldn't even be close. Ali was more than just an athlete. He was a man of the people. All people.

It's pretty much neck-and-neck. Two very different athletes but two very recognizable and admirable athletes.

Tiger Woods is in there...may top the list after he breaks the majors record and retires.

What a joke! Jordan is not revered as much as you think outside states whereas ALI was the most famous man and most recognised face of 20th century! Some mag did a poll and he was more recognised than JFK and Gandhi!

Basketball is not a sport. Tallest man wins and they have 40 mins of action over 2 hours with ten tea breaks, timeouts and four periods. Even women only have one period a month! ****ing hell, basketball is not even played pro in most of the G8 countries! What a joke. Worldwide Diego Maradona and Pele are more iconic than Jordan because their sport required more skill and less height!

Basketball is not a sport but a freak show! Tall people were bullied at my school and played netball like ******s! I bet the guy who invented it was one of those ****s. I guarantee that 7ft ***** was battered at school by his communist party of china teachers. Glorified nerds; Only in America!!!

Beckham was **** too and on the bench in Europe once he sold enough shirts. Was dropped from England squad whilst at Madrid too! Only Americans will fall for his bull**** now. He is a reject and an overrated failure: enjoy!

Its also what he stood for. He stood for what was right about mankind.

Jordan just stood for selling overpriced sneakers with his name on it.

James Naismith was 5'10". Hey, even you're probably taller than that. Here's an idea...just because you're country sucks at a sport, it doesn't mean the sport sucks...just that you suck.
