Boxing legend Sir Henry Cooper has passed away at the age of 76. The former English, Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion fought 55 times and is revered for his knockdown of Muhammad Ali in 1963. London-born Cooper, who won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year twice, was knighted in 2000. Alongside figures such as Frank Bruno, Joe Bugner, Tommy Farr and Lennox Lewis, Cooper is regarded as one of the all-time best British heavyweights.

Only a British LEGEND who sent Ali to the promised land with his left hand bomb? You clearly know NOTHING about boxing history.

Ok, Ali's corner slashed his gloves as he was going to get counted out. But our Henry won the long game - being lucid for many decades after, whilst Ali did his best impression of an epilepsy sufferer, nearly dropping the olympic flame in his breakfast as "our Enery" spun a verbal web about the current state of this once great sport. RIP HENRY - Parkinson's BOMBER. YES.

Not a boxing legend. But a legend full stop. He beat Ali in his prime (let's accept this now) yes, but more importantly he was a character beyond reproach. A comedian, a gentleman, and a Lancashire bomber (just ask Ali's neurological consultant). RIP ENERY.

                    R.I.P champ
Nearly did it all , failed to win a world title in a era when you had to be something to win the "world title"
Remembered around the world for flooring Cassius clay but remembered on these shores for been our Henry sad day for British boxing
