    Just starting out need advise

I've just started boxing and need some advise in the workout an cardio area's
as for me I知 25 5'10 an around 220 I have around 27% BFI an am very motivated I知 a very hard worker an need a good plan to attack this just need a little advise to start like right now I have a heavy bag, double end bag, jump rope, tire an hammer for hammer swings an weight bench my diet is a little rough an am working on that now. How often should I train an how many rounds should I start with? And should I do 3 min rounds or 2 an 30 sec rest or 1 min rest I will do what ever I need to make this happen so just let me know what is the best approach to achieve the best outcome.

    Thank you

Firts advcie , Join a Boxing Gym, its the best thing for you by far especialy if your a hard worker,

however if you cant or really dont want to then you will have to do it yourself,

firstyl dont pay too much atention to numbers and times, like round time and stuff like that wen your starting off, just go on ur bag for a set amount of time ike 2 mins or 3 or ect whatever you want, mix it up a little bit,
have rests inbetween rounds and really fight on the bag and work hard so you can get fit, push yourself aswell, however you Mustkeep your form, its the most importantting if you dont know anything about boxing e.g. stanmce and all the diffrent punch and fotwork haed movent ect..the list is endless , then go and learn all that by researching internet and forums as much as you can, this is why its good to join a gym instead, anyway just make sure you have hands up and have good tecnique thats the most important ting wen starting and then devolp your fitness,

mix it up on the bags, go on diffrent types of bag and try diffrent thing on each one, but always keep your form, and technique right as you dont have a trainer you need to make sure you dont become sloppy,
mix it up like 1 bag then shadow box then spkip, then other bag, the other bag, and then skip with little rest in between diffent things,

basically your starting off, so get a feel off what boxing is all about beofre you go rusing in with numbers and things, learn you basics and technique before anyting else, and keep it that way, if you know abit already the fair enough, then start practicing on your equipment and get a feel off it all like i would say mabey do, 2 muinte rounds on bagsand then switch to somting else for 2 mins ect...

you mix it up and keep your push ups and weights going, use your bags regulary with proper form, get fit, eat healty, work hard, and dont go sloppy then firgure out what plan suits you best,

thats just my poinion anyway lol

hey hows it goin... first off.. if u wanna become an actualy amatuer or pro boxer. dont waste another minute at home and do all this **** in a real gym where a trainer can track u n help u progress towards that first bout...

if u jus wanna get in shape for it.. and wanna use boxing at home to get u in great shape or also help with confidence and fighting skills... id recommend not ****in with no hammer n tire anytime soon... start off with simple ****.. anything along these lines will get u in terrific shape.

-train 4 days a week (training doesnt include running, run 3 days a week. at least 20 minutes or 1 mile runs)
-during training do 2 rounds of skipping, 2 rounds of shadowboxing, 4 rounds on heavybag, 3 rounds on double end / speedbag, 2 rounds of abs, and 1 round of legs / arms ( the legs and arms and double end bag / speedbag show u have the choice, dont do both in one day but pick which one u will do that day)

if u can do this 4 times a week on average u will see amazing results. get creative with your excersizes but also make sure u do the research to do them all properly

good luck hope i helped somewhat

You should train AT LEAST 3 times per week. To start off go 3 minute rounds with 1 min rest. Jog for 1/2 hour in the morning to cut ur body fat % down and focus on getting in shape first. Start off with 2X3 on double end at 2X3 on heavy bag after a while start building the rounds up. But you have to join a gym learn the techniques so you are not learning them wrong and getting in bad habits.

theres some kind of website thats like a gym finder website, people have posted it up on this forum before. it finds all the boxing gyms that are in your city.

that being said. you should start off going hard but not too hard, it is very important to listen to your body at all times. especially in the early stages of training because that is when your the least conditioned and you dont exactly know your limit or what is past it. so work hard and push yourself but be cautious listen to your body and if you really think you need a break or need to sit and stop punching then do it. allow for little improvment at a time and then once you have felt out how far you can go and you know whats safe past your limit. then you will start improving more.

For running, I can't recommend this highly enough:

It's the couch to 5K jogging/running programme which will bring you gradually into the wonderful world of running especially if you've not run/jogged in a long time! I'm on week 3 now and it is fantastic (and I had went ooh, about 18 or 19 years without running prior to starting this programme!!!)
