i am primeraly boxing to loose weight but if and when i can get to a boxing gym i might become more serious. i do weightlifting 4 times a week and boxing twice (with one overlap so im only working out 5 days a week) but i also have a punch bag at home wich i love using and was wondering if i could use that for a bit in the evenings or would it destroy my recovery from lifting? thanks

Theoretically it could, however this happens to be affected by many things like genetics, diet, workout intensity, how much sleep you get etc.
Your body will tell you if you are ok to carry on with what ya wanna do anyway. If you are mad sore and find it painful to workout then you need to allow adequate time to recover.
Minor DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) can be worked through it just depends on their severity. If you over do it you will reduce the gains you worked for and injure yourself.
Hope this helps

It probably will do depending on how intense you hit the bags, if you have anything above a medium intensity bag session on the day after heavy lifting then yeah it probably will affect your recovery since hitting the bag works the whole upper body.
Instead of having weight days and boxing days seperate why dont you just do them both in one day, do your weight lifting and then hit the bag in between sets or after the weights, and then let your body rest the next day.
