will boxing at home affect recovery from lifting?

i am primeraly boxing to loose weight but if and when i can get to a boxing gym i might become more serious. i do weightlifting 4 times a week and boxing twice (with one overlap so im only working out 5 days a week) but i also have a punch bag at home wich i love using and was wondering if i could use that for a bit in the evenings or would it destroy my recovery from lifting? thanks

Theoretically it could, however this happens to be affected by many things like genetics, diet, workout intensity, how much sleep you get etc.

Your body will tell you if you are ok to carry on with what ya wanna do anyway. If you are mad sore and find it painful to workout then you need to allow adequate time to recover.

Minor DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) can be worked through it just depends on their severity. If you over do it you will reduce the gains you worked for and injure yourself.

    Hope this helps

It probably will do depending on how intense you hit the bags, if you have anything above a medium intensity bag session on the day after heavy lifting then yeah it probably will affect your recovery since hitting the bag works the whole upper body.

Instead of having weight days and boxing days seperate why dont you just do them both in one day, do your weight lifting and then hit the bag in between sets or after the weights, and then let your body rest the next day.

Yes, its better to do them both in one day, rather than wait until the next day... You'll also stay more loose and flexible from doing that... Youll be able to go at full intensity... the next day itll hurt too much to go at full intensity so you need to just go at 60 percentish... Eventually once you work out consistently enough, youll stop getting so sore and be able to go all out even the day after lifting, but you should be working out your lower body/upper body both, work chest and triceps the same day, work shoulders another day, back and biceps on another, legs on one, and intense ab workouts on another, with cardio everyday, and hitting the bag a few rounds as well each day... This is a good beginners workout plan in my opinion, its working each muscle once a week, staying loose and flexible, as well as losing weight with the cardio and boxing everyday after lifting... Eat well and you should have successful results in no time at all... This is the plan I followed when I first started lifting/boxing/losing weight... It got me great results within a few months, I was dropping pounds like crazy... Do not start lifting each muscle twice a week until your body can handle it and your used to the once a week plan, and when you do switch up, have days for Back and Biceps, Chest and Triceps, and another for Leg's and shoulders, and throw in abs once or twice if you want, preferably on your back and biceps day (again this is just what i do)....
