really speed? maybe acceleration, but there is no way that i am ever goign to punch faster with a weight in my hand then with out one in my hand. a car with 1 hp and 400 ft lb of torque is still only going to be able to get up to like 5 mph. a car with 1 hp and 800 ft lb of torque....still only hitting 5 mph.

where as if you spend say an hour on the heavy bag every single muscle that you work is going to be worked exatcally how it should be for doing exactally what your training for. as well the muscle to mind link that one might get whil lifting that allows you to better flex a muscle is being worked even better in the proper way/order when your throwing punches
If you properly train and cycle your workout recovery should not be a problem
