I think too much ****e is not good for you. And depending on what time of day you are eating, best to keep the rice intake down. I would not recommend white rice as that is full of crap. brown rice and curry is gd IMO..just not everyday

Use as little oil as possible(olive oil only), keep the ****es down to a minimum(use chilli's instead). Use lean meats and fresh veg.
I cook curries regularly and it gives me my 5 a-day in one dish. Im vegetarian so i add tofu or soya chunks as a good source of protein.
Stay away from naan bread, paratha, chapati's etc.. as they are quite high in fat. If complementing with rice have wholegrain brown, never white.
For example, my veg curry i cook contains onions, garlic, chilli's, tomatoes, peas, sweetcorn, chickpeas and mushrooms. The only other things i add are the tofu/soya, pasta/curry sauce(low fat) and ****es to preference.Last edited by jonesy; 01-08-2011, 02:23 PM.

Curry that your mom makes is usually good, as a poster before mentioned, all sorts of take outs are bad.
****es are really good for your insulin sensetivity and immune system.

rice got a ****load of calories. if they throw in coconut milk or some other thickening agent you are ****ed.

Out of all the takeaways Curries are probably the best health wise...
Firstly they use pilau rice (usually long grain basmalti rice) which is one of the better rices out there, probably on par with brown rice, either way its ten times better than white rice.
secondly they use a lot of ****es which are generally good for your body, lots of antioxidants in ****es most of the time.
Thirdly they rarely add sugar to any of their dishes.
The only bad thing about them is that they usually have alot of fat in them, but in my honest opinion, a bit of excess fat every so often is much less damaging then too many carbs, or too much sugar etc.
Overall the rice is a good source of low GI carbs, the meat is always good, lots of protein, the curry sauce and ****es are free of sugar and other additives (like msg in chinese takeaways), the only bad thing is a bit too much fat, but thats no big deal.
Oh yeah I fuc'ing love curries

actually, our trainer used to recommend eating lots of curry when me and a few of my stablemates needed to put on some muscle/weight and when we didnt seem to eat enough compared to how much we were exercising..
