Yeah and if the employees are being racist, they should get fired. Just hire employees that already have that understanding. It's not their job to teach them or tell them what to learn. It's a customer service job. Those are the skills they need and should get training for, regardless of race. So there's not an issue with understanding that. There's an issue with bringing it into their company. It should only be brought in if there's rampant racism among their employees. So if that has happened, then how many times and in what context?
How many movies has Disney had that they've had to change or issue warnings for because they have some element of racism in them. Dumbo has racist tropes in it. Even the Lion King where the hyenas were darker than lions like Simba and spoke with slang for some odd reason. Hmmm. It sounds kind of silly....but then you might think....but why?? Disney had a character named "Jim Crow" for crying out loud. lol. The Peter Pan ride at the park had stereotypical images of indigenous people. Apparently the splash mountain flume ride was inspired by the film, "Song of the South," which has long been called racist due to its depiction of plantation life in the south. Shlt like that. Disney was full of a lot of dumb shlt that seemed off color to say the least and racist or race insensitive. Disney didn't even have a black princess until 2009. All of the little black girls had to be white princesses. Sometimes, little things like that can make a difference.
It's customer service...but that's why it's important. They put on shows for everyone who attends, and it is just trying to be inclusive. They are just trying to make sure that no one leaves feeling like something was off color because of something that their staff either didn't get...or something that lurks underneath from their staff. I don't see the big deal. Knowing is half the battle. So they can study up, do their job the way they are trained to do it, and then go back to being full fledged racist KKK members in their free time for all I care.siablo14 likes this.

Right, I agree with all that you just said here. So acknowledge that racist past, learn from it and be better in the future. And what I was saying is not if they look racist, but if employees act or treat anyone with racism, they should be fired on the spot. I'm for inclusion too, as long as it's not forced, like the oscars have started to do where they're creating categories that have to fill a quota. If there's talented performers of color or who happen to be women, nominate them. The categories they have should cover that. Disney seems to be starting to be inclusive. I've also seen that with things like black Barbie dolls for a while now. So Disney should just say they have an awful, racist history and they continue to work to correct it.
As for Disney, I'm not saying I personally agree with everything they are doing because frankly I don't know what exactly it is that they are doing. But I can agree with them trying to foster inclusivity. Just like I can agree with the Oscars doing as much. I just hope neither is going overboard with it. For instance, I heard something about movies being forced to have a certain number of ********** in it to be considered. I don't agree with that.
Actually, I had to go look it up to see, because I wanted to be sure about it. I found this:
The criteria for best picture consideration will be based on four different overarching standards. Producers must fulfill two of the standards. This can be achieved in various ways, including by featuring a lead actor from an underrepresented minority group, focusing the storyline on such groups, pulling together a production team made of diverse individuals, or providing training opportunities to members of underrepresented groups.
Such underrepresented groups include Black, Hispanic and Native American populations, among others, as well as LGBT+ individuals and people with disabilities.
While the criteria will only fully go into effect in two years' time, producers must submit a confidential form about inclusion standards for best-picture consideration in 2022 and 2023.

But I also think they should have a diverse group of people judging. And if the awards goes to only movies that have white men, so be it.

So, that's not so bad I think. I need a bit more information...like how many people are needed. But...have a gay guy go around training (ie. staying out of the way but observing) while you are filming, and a hispanic dude on the production team. Ok. Not that big of a deal to me. I would hope that a whole production team isn't only made up of white males anyway. But again, I wish I could find specifically what they want done.

And are you really going on about bicycle tape again in that other thread dude? And is that stuff really used in bicycles? People will rarely admit when they're wrong. The best you can hope for is outlasting them in an argument for the TKO win lol. If they're reasonable and things get more civil like here, you can call it a draw or a tap out haha.

On the actual tape...I still have no idea what it's used for besides as a dirty trick to lace hand wraps back in the day, and I read Dempsey used it to make jump rope handles (and...on his wraps. lol). I'm assuming it was used on bicycle handles as well.
