Father of Michael Brown joins anti-*** movement amid demands over whereabouts of $90MILLION

“The father of Michael Brown, who was fatally shot by police in 2014, has signed on to a group demanding accountability and transparency from Black Lives Matter.

Michael Brown Sr. has signed his name to a new group called *** 10 Plus, which seeks financial transparency from *** Global Network Foundation, as controversy surrounding *** co-founder Patrisse Cullor and her lavish lifestyle continues to bubble.

Referring to initial calls for more transparency and accountability from the ‘*** 10,’ the name for the ten original *** chapters, a new group, deemed the ‘*** 10 Plus’ is now speaking out,” Fox News reported Friday.

“The number of chapters that have aligned in support of our statement has nearly doubled,” said a
statement from *** 10 Plus, issued Friday. “Some of these chapters have made their own statements echoing not only our call to accountability but also our experiences as we sought transparency, democracy, and internal transformation for years.”

“The *** 10 Plus continues the call for transparency and most importantly, for principled accountability in movement infrastructures,” the group added. “The issues we’ve highlighted within the Black Lives Matter movement infrastructures,” the group added. “The issues we’ve highlighted within the Black Lives Matter movement are not unique to this group or to people of color. Grassroots movements have been co-opted across the globe and it is our intention to be a part of the collective creating processes based on integrity so that we, nor any other activist or advocate, encounters these avoidable issues in the future.”

the group is demanding to see how the $90 million raised by the organization has been spent:

Black Lives Matter took in $90 million in 2020, and was left with a balance sheet of $60 million by January 2021. Around $8 million was spent on expenses, including staffing costs with the other $20 million donated to local chapters and nonprofits.

Those numbers – and news of Cullors’ property portfolio – has led to questions about how *** is spending its money, and complaints over a lack of transparency from bereaved families previously supported by the group.

Cullors, who has since stepped down from her position with the organization, has reportedly put up $35,000 worth of fencing and an electric gate around her $1.4 million secluded Los Angeles home, where the population is reportedly less than 2% black.”

*** 10 PLUS! Now that’s a movement I can support. Call them race baiters and greedy grifters doing innocent folk wrong for a profit, out on their BS! Call em out!

Clowns like bozo and big dumb won’t even step foot into this thread. Neither will that clown siablo.

So nobody dares discuss *** 10 plus, huh?

I know. Telling “***” supporters that “***” is a fraudulent org. ran by a grifting money stealing fat ugly lesbian, is like telling kids Santa Clause isn’t real. LMAO

From what I've seen I'm largely in support of their aims, man. As I said elsewhere repeatedly I'll always be more sympathetic to the grassroots activists and organisers of a movement like this than of the leadership. In fact I linked the Chapter statement in a thread just a few days ago, which seems to have been a precursor to the setting up of BLP10PLUS by the original 10 chapters comprising the ***GN

It seems the the dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency and accountability has led to the Chapters taking stronger action to take back control of the organisation. Time will tell whether their rhetoric matches their stated aims but I gotta say I'm in favour of what they're doing in a general sense... although I gotta say this is something we see all too often within political and social movements on the left and it's a risk that movements become increasingly fractured and consumed by infighting... **** happens unfortunately.

'The only people we hate more than the Romans are the Judean People's Front and the Judean Popular People's Front!!'

It is, unfortunately, all too often like that amongst the fractured political groups on the left, at least here in the UK... which I expect will will give you a happy sneer. And damn, personally I ain't in favour of any form of Government or authority - which technically you'd describe as an anarchist in terms of poltical philosophy (although you dudes might understand the term 'Left Libertarian' better). You ever tried to get a room full of anarchists to agree on anything? Herding cats, man.

On the other hand to ensure they got greater public and grassroots trust going forward they do need to ensure maximum transparency both in decision making and funding allocation... hopefully this will be about building back better.

It is likely the intense focus on Ms Cullers financial affairs by elements within the Right Wing media has helped encourage this move (and I suspect encouraging dissent within the movement was part of the goal) but it is also very clear that the tensions within ***GN over funding allocation predated the various revelations about her property portfolio and matters would have come to a head eventually regardless.

So. You a *** supporter now Hue?

Oh yeah - and BTW they still ain't yet claimed that Ms Cullors stole anything nor that *** is fraudulent, what they're demanding is that the chapters and grass roots activists that made up ***GN get more say in how it's run and where the money goes. I know you got an agenda to push but you possibly need to brush up on your reading comprehension a little. Also in case you ain't understood the distinction yet, ***GNF is an organisation - a registered nonprofit in fact, whereas *** is the name for the wider movement made of up of a multitude of other groups and individuals which may or may not be directly affiliated.

For this claim, like any others we fact-check, the burden of proof is on the speaker. The post provided no proof of such a connection, the author did not respond to provide any, and we found none in our research, though documents are limited given the nature of the organization and Khan-Cullors' employment history.
“To be abundantly clear, as a registered 501c3, ***GNF cannot and did not commit any organizational resources toward the purchase of my personal property,” Khan-Cullors said in a prepared statement . “Any insinuation or assertion to the contrary is categorically false.”
You ready to provide some proof of your claims about theft and fraud, Hue? Anything?

Headline is utterly misleading though. There's no 'missing $90 million' the money is all on the ***GNF books. Nor has there been any proof or even formal accusations of theft or fraud. What there has been is some friction beetween the individual chapters that comprise the ***GNF and the leadership over transparency and how much say they have in the allocation of funding and the running of the organisation.

Probably worth a read of the Chapter Statement here from last November

And perhaps a shorter AP article here:

          for some background.

What I do find amusing is that Hue is now apparently advocating a group that had this as part of their Chapter Statement, in effect saying that the ***GN needs to return to it's more radical, ********ic, roots:

Black Liberation must be about more than protecting the few of us that are doing well. It must be about building a movement that will ensure all of us get free. Because successful movements are collective, not individual, they must be rooted in accountability that protects all of our people. Our love for the people means we have a duty to prioritize this principled accountability for each other, our communities, and the struggle for Black Liberation.

The issues we raise are bigger than simple complaints about individual leaders, but about the ways *******ism and capitalism have manifested in ***GN and the current iteration of the Black liberation movement as a whole, co-opting and deradicalizing this critical historic moment of revolutionary possibility.

They are about how nepotism , proximity to power, and access to resources became more important to the Network than making sure that they had a radical vision, objectives, and strategies created through a transparent, ********ic decision making process and a solid foundation of shared governance and political alignment.

          You donated yet, Hue?

And in general I got support for their aims cos I think representation of the grass roots and transparency is critical in building these kinds of organisations, the indiividual activists and chapters on the ground are the heart and soul of any such movement IMO but it is also important to be on guard against the possibility of in-fighting and factionalism.

Hue appears to think he's scored some kinda slam-dunk here but to me it mainly looks like he shot himself in the ****.

Absolutely. After posting here, I went into another thread and I saw that you posted that first link above there, so I read it. It was actually quite enlightening.

Thanks for passing along this information. Poor Hue got taken for a ride from his right wing website (he will cry about CNN forever...then falls for this misleading title) and just wound up making himself look silly yet again. But what else is new?
